Parklands Juniors at the Gosforth GC Open

A report from Robert Hope .......A great day for the Parklands Juniors as they ventured out to Gosforth Golf Club for their Annual Junior Open. Eleven players went to represent Parklands and did not return empty handed.
The day started well as the weather was at its best giving a favourable breeze towards the first green. With a warm welcome upon arrival the juniors were in high spirits. Each junior spent at least half an hour on the practice green getting used to the lightning quick greens, and getting a feel for their game.
Congratulations to Ryan Simpson who ensured Parklands were amongst the honours by taking third place winning a Titleist pencil bag and shooting an impressive 8 under for the day. Ryan led for most of the day. Sadly in the final group Connor Hoyle from Northumberland Golf Club arrived in the club house with a net 60 snatching 1st place from Ryan. Alex Minto also returned a net 61, and claimed 2nd place on count back.
Also Congratulations to Joanna Rumney who secured a second victory for Parklands by winning girls best net, shooting a great score of 65.
A big thank you to all who provided transport to get us to the event, also to Peter Cartwright the organiser and to the starter whose name I was unable to catch.
